Tree Removal

Tree Removal Service
Overview

Cut down, cut up, and carried off your property.

Tree removal means the whole tree goes — trunk, limbs and brush. Not cut back, not topped. We take it down, cut it up on the ground, and load every piece of it onto our trucks.

There are two ways to bring a tree down. Where there is open ground to drop it into, we fell it whole: a notch and a back cut at the base, and the tree lands where we aim it. It is the quickest method and the cheapest, and on an open lot it is usually the right one.

Most residential trees have nowhere to fall. Those come down in sections from the top. A climber works up the trunk on ropes, or a bucket truck lifts an operator into the canopy, and the tree is dismantled piece by piece. Limbs are cut and lowered on a rope rather than dropped, the trunk comes down in short blocks, and nothing is allowed to free-fall anywhere near a roof, a fence, a driveway or a power line. Oversized trees, or trees with no rigging point left in them, are lifted out by crane instead.

Once the tree is on the ground it gets processed there. Brush and small limbs go straight through the chipper, the trunk is cut into rounds and loaded, and it all leaves the same day. What you are left with is a stump cut low to the ground and a work area raked and blown clean.

What's Included

Everything from the first cut to the last chip.

One written price covers the takedown, the processing and the haulage. Stump grinding is the only thing quoted separately.

01

Whole-Tree Felling

Where there is a clear drop zone, the tree is notched and felled in one piece — the fastest and least expensive way to take it down.

02

Sectional Dismantling

No room to fell? The tree comes down from the top in pieces, each limb cut and lowered on a rope instead of dropped.

03

Climbing & Bucket Access

Bucket truck where the tree is reachable from the drive, rope-and-saddle climbing for back gardens a truck cannot get to.

04

Crane-Assisted Removal

Oversized trunks and trees too far gone to rig against are lifted out section by section, clear over the roofline.

05

Brush Chipping & Wood Haulage

Limbs chipped on site, trunk cut into rounds and loaded, and every piece taken away on our trucks the same day.

06

Ground Protection & Cleanup

Plywood matting under the drop zone and the machines, then the whole work area raked and blown clean before we leave.

How We Work

Nothing free-falls near your house. Every limb is cut, roped and lowered — then chipped, loaded and gone the same day.

How The Work Goes

Four stages, usually inside a day.

01

Set Up & Protect

Drop zone marked off, matting laid over lawn and driveway, garden furniture moved, and the trucks positioned for the chipper.

02

Take The Canopy

Working top down, the limbs are cut off and roped to the ground one at a time until only the bare trunk is standing.

03

Drop The Trunk

The spar is felled whole if there is space, or blocked down in short sections and lowered if there is not.

04

Chip, Load & Clear

Brush through the chipper, trunk cut to rounds and loaded, stump cut low, and the ground raked and blown clean.

F.A.Q

Questions we get asked about this service

Height, trunk diameter and access are what drive the price. A small tree in an open back garden can be a couple of hours. A large oak overhanging a roof, with no room to fell and a long carry out to the chipper, is a full day and several crew. Every estimate is free and given to you in writing before anything is booked.

Most residential removals are done inside a day, cleanup included. Multiple large trees, crane work, or a site where everything has to be carried out by hand can run into a second day. We will tell you which it is when we quote, not on the morning we turn up.

Branches are chipped on site and the trunk is cut into rounds and loaded. All of it leaves on our trucks as part of the quoted price. If you would rather keep the trunk, say so at the estimate and we will cut it to firewood lengths and stack it for you at no extra charge.

The removal takes the tree down to a stump cut low to the ground. Grinding that stump out below grade is a separate service — booking it on the same visit is cheaper than having us come back for it.
